Geohazards

Damages produced by earthquakes are associated to static (permanent) deformation due to fault offset and dynamic shaking due to the pass of seismic waves. The investigation of the relationship between this two physical processes may provide better understanding of earthquakes hazard.

To this aim, homogeneous catalogs are necessary. Dynamic shaking is provided by ShakeMaps generated after a seismic event, co-seismic deformation can be mapped via Differential SAR interferometry. The aim of this set of challenges is to take advantage of the large amount of EO data available to investigate co-seismic deformation.
